I joined a photography group in the month of September, 2023, to get myself shooting more in an effort to exercise my skills. Or, as Dan Milnor would say, photo-fit-ness.
The Challenge:
Take an interesting photo, outside that consists of at least 50% black (not the colour, but the density!). So half of the image should not contain any other information. The Image:
Every evening I walk past this tree in front of my house. This tree is a type of Maple Amur and grows such that the trunk is almost parallel to the ground.
When the sun is low in the sky it beams through the tree branches and focuses bright rays on the trunk. The texture of the bark both absorbs and reflects light in a way that I find extremely pleasing. To the naked eye the trunk acts as both a reflector and a black hole, and this image is an exaggeration of that.
